Great Winter Coat

sample-of-kwik-200.jpgWhat fun I had sewing this coat this morning.  That’s right… it was only a morning project.

The fabric is a sherpa backed suede which is 60″ wide.  All it took to make this coat was a couple of yards of fabric, Kwik Sew pattern 3358, the walking foot on my machine and a few hours.  This pattern was designed for this fabric, so it was very easy.

I washed the fabric before I cut out the pattern.  After cutting, I washed the pieces again so that there would not be any “fuzz”.

We have carried this fabric for several years, but it hasn’t been cold enough for a good warm coat.  We made some great vests from these fabrics, but this year might just be the year for that coat.

These fabrics retail for $29.98 and are completely machine washable.  Check out website in the next week and you will find the pattern and fabrics on our website www.creations-online.com   Better yet, drop by the shop and “feel” the fabrics.
