NEW BROTHER MACHINE — QUATTRO

Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

brother-100.jpgWe have just returned from Las Vegas where we celebrated the 100th Anniversary of Brother International.  The company made their first sewing machine in 1908.

We are proud to be associated with this company as they continue to make the most innovative new machines on the market.

june-m.jpg We got to “hob-nob” will all sorts of celebraties all weekend.  June Mellinger has been Brother’s Educational Director for as long as we have been with Brother.  This celebrity has been instrumental in helping us  to learn about the entire line of Brother sewing machines.

jullian.jpgAnother celebrity we visited with was Jullian Lewis.  That name will be familiar to any of the Project Runway fans.  She was one of the finalists on the last season’s show.  She didn’t win, but was our favorite.  All of her sewing life, she has used a Brother machine.  She made her entire collection that was shown at Bryant Park on her Brother….and now she is a fan of the new Quattro.

quatro-machine.jpg Now for the real star of the weekend  –  Brother’s new Quattro.  This sewing and embroidery machine is great for all 4 areas you love –  quilting, embroidery, sewing, and crafting.  This machine is so new that it will be late in September before we have our first machine in the shop.  You can check out all of the great features, accessories and special offers at www.brotherquattro.com .  There are even videos you can watch, so don’t be left out of the excitement about this new machine.

Creations’ Boutique

Sunday, July 27th, 2008

blue-garment-2.jpgWe are always finding something new and fun to add to our shop, and this time we have really done it by adding a line of linen clothing by Mosaic.

As always, we are rearranging, and have converted the old “kitchen” area into Creations’ Boutique.  We are showing our new linen tops, jacket, pants and skirts as well as our leather bags, jewlery, hats and watches.

brown-garment.jpgThis linen has been prewashed so it’s very soft, and you don’t have to worry about it shrinking.  You’ll find some great colors like lime green, periwinkle, red, black, natural and mocha.

Drop by and take a look and you just might find yourself in a new comfortable outfit.

Creations’ Swap and Drop

Sunday, July 13th, 2008

swap1.jpgThe Creations’ Crew is always up to something, and this past Friday, we had our first swap and drop.

Ginger got in the clean-up and clean-out mode so we came up with the idea that we would all have a “trunk” show.  All of the gals who work with us loaded up stuff in their trunks that was no longer wanted.  We all met early in the morning in our parking lot and “swapped stuff”.  No rules, just take anything you wanted from anyone’s car.

swap-2.jpgSome of us went home with about the same amount we brought, and some of us managed not to adopt anything at all.

After scones provided by Mary (our best cook) and lots of laughing about our various possessions, we loaded everything that was left back into our trunks.  We then caravaned over to the drop off trailor for the Medina Children’s Home.  It is located behind Mr. Gatti’s in the Belk parking lot.

We loaded everything into their trailor which made it very easy for us and they were delighted to receive our “stuff”.  If you are looking for a place to donate your unused and un-needed items, this is a great place.  It’s very convenient, and they are very pleased to receive your “stuff”.  There is someone there each morning to help you.

We are already thinking about doing this again.  Seems we all still have lots of “stuff”.  Do you think we should open our next swap and drop to all of our customers?  If you do just let us know.  You can drop us an e-mail at creations@creations-online.com

Welcome to Creations Communications

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007

We are so excited about having this new communication tool! We like to do everything we can to keep our customers informed of the latest happenings around the Creations store (in Kerrville, Tx) and on our web site too. So, we’ve added this blog to our communications arsenal. We tested the bloggin concept on a small scale with our Creations’ First-Ever Auction Preview site to support an upcoming event. We had so much fun and our customers seemed to embrace the concept too, so we decided to create this Creations’ Communications blog.

If you’ve never been to our store or web site, here’s a bit of history: Creations has been specializing in sewing and quilting fabrics, patterns and supplies for over 30 years. We are located in Kerrville, in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. We carry a wide range of fabrics, patterns and books for quilting, wearable art, rug hooking and stitchery (including hand and machine embroidery).   We are also an authorized dealer for Brother sewing and embroidery machines.

We invite you to drop in to Creations’ Communications frequently to find out about the latest product arrivals in the store, learn what we’ve added to our online catalog, get the scoop on upcoming events and read fun reports on some of the in-store events, like our annual shop hop.
