Bali Pops

Most quilters are familiar with the “Jelly Roll”. If you aren’t, then it’s a group of pre-cut strips of fabric which are 2 1/2″ wide by the width of the fabric. There are now lots of patterns to use with the jelly rolls to make some interesting quilts.
Now Hoffman has jumped into the mix with their Cotton Batik Bali Pops. There are 6 flavors of Bali Pops which include Kiwiberry, Mulberry, Butterscotch, Strawberry Fields, Mint Chip and Sherbert. If you are a batik fan, you just won’t be able to resist getting these Bali Pops. Consider yourself warned, they are fantastic.
Each Bali Pop has 40 2 1/2″ strips of different cotton batiks. They retail for $34.98. Each of the packs is wrapped to keep you fabrics separated so that you can see each of the wonderful prints.
I wish my picture didn’t have the “glare” from the package wrapping, so you will just have to come by the shop and take a closer look, but remember, we warned you how irrestistable they are.
We have added a nice selection of Dupioni Silk fat quarters for any of your crazy quilt projects, small bags or pillows.
If your mind needs a little push as to what might be fun to do with these fabrics, then you will want to come and take a peek at the new book Silk Unravelled.
This wallhanging is so quick to make that it could be hanging on your wall THIS holiday season. The pattern Shining Star uses half square triangles so there are no diamonds involved. The wallhanging measures approx 40″ x 40″ and we have the kit available in the shop for $49.00. We’ll get it up on the website asap.
We love the Blended Quilts. They really make us think about combinations of prints and values of fabrics. This one, called Simple Gifts, is from the new book called Best of the Blended Quilts. It measures 68″ x 68″, and we will have our kit up on the website shortly.
What is so much fun about being the the quilting business is the vast variety and style of fabrics and quilts being made today.
Decided you just might like to see the print that started this One Block Wonder.
We are always finding something new and fun to add to our shop, and this time we have really done it by adding a line of linen clothing by Mosaic.
This linen has been prewashed so it’s very soft, and you don’t have to worry about it shrinking. You’ll find some great colors like lime green, periwinkle, red, black, natural and mocha.
There are two Texas schools that have been Rivals for as long as they have been schools. Seems you have to draw the line so we thought it would be fun to see which side you are on.
Now if you are more inclined to wear burgandy than burnt orange, you won’t be left out.
We have just completed our newest kit. It’s so simple to sew and and would make a great throw. It measures 57″ x 74″. This quilt starts with a center panel and then borders are added. The last border is just a floral stripe, but it looks like intricate applique.
Do you remember Lakadaisies….the Redwork Stitchery patterns from several years ago? Well, Delores Storm, the talented gal behind Lakadaisies is at it again. This time Delores is designing with wool applique. We found these charming appliques just fit right in with caring about our surroundings. The book which is entitiled Recycle Kindness , has the pattern for Recycle Faith, Recycle Hope, Recycle Love, Recycle Peace and Recycle Kindness.
This is another one of the designs from the book. Mr. Willie built us frames for each of the pieces. The wool applique is done on a background of homespun. The backgrounds are actually the same color….it’s just my photography that is a little off. Good thing I don’t make my living taking pictures.
Need more light on the sewing bed of your machine? We are excited to have in the Bendable LED light. This little concentrated light will illuminate your stitching area. It has a life of about 11 years if you left it on constantly … that’s a lot of sewing hours.
