Video of our 42nd Anniversary Rainbow Challenge Quilt Show

We are excited to share a video of all the beautiful quilts donated for our 42nd Anniversary Rainbow Challenge. Over 210 quilts were donated by our generous and talented quilters. Even if you attended the show, you’ll want to watch as Kathy shares some of the touching stories behind many of these quilts. Thanks again to everyone who donated a quilt for this worthy cause!

Viewers Choice Winners

Everyone who attended our show on Friday, March 13th and Saturday, March 14th was asked to vote for their favorite 10 quilts. The quilts were so great that the voting was very close – so we have decided to have 13 winners instead of 10! We make the rules, so we can bend them too!!

Here are the winners – we’ve included the Quilt#s in this listing since voters didn’t know who made each quilt.

For the winners of place #4 – #13, the votes were so close that we’ve designated them all as 4th place and we’re going to show them in the order of the original Quilt #.

March 13th and 14th at The Main House (details below the photos)

Click any of the images below to bring up a slideshow of these beautiful quilts.

On March 13th and 14th we will display all the quilts entered in our challenge.  You are invited to come to The Main House (across the parking lot from Creations) and view these great quilts before they are given to CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate). The show will be open from 9:30 – 5:30 both days. (You can see a preview of the bright colorful quilts in the gallery below.)

There is no admission fee and the first 420 visitors will receive a gift from Creations. Grab your quilting, or non quilting buddies and make a day of it. We invite everyone who attends to vote for their 10 favorite quilts.  The quilts with the most votes will earn a gift certificate for their maker.

Creations will also be giving away a quilt at the show.  A donation of $5.00 to CASA will get a ticket for the quilt.  At the close of the show, we will draw from the tickets and the winner will receive the finished quilt.  You will need to come to our Quilt Show to see the donation quilt. Remember, donations will only be taken during our show, so you have a great opportunity to win a finished quilt.

Come and help us celebrate the generous quilters who shared their time and talents with children in foster care.

After the show, visit the shop to find some great values on our 3 yard rolls, 1 yard cuts and sale fat quarters.  We have added lots of new fabrics to these groups. These quality fabrics at great prices make wonderful quilt backs or just additions to your stash.

Creations 41st Anniversary “Power of Words” Quilt Challenge

posted in: Anniversary Event | 0

Our 41st Anniversary event was a tremendous success. We so appreciate all the generous quilters from across the country who gave of their time and talents to participate. It’s a special person who will make a quilt for a child they will never meet. The 145 quilts will go to CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) to distribute to children in the foster care system who have been removed from abusive homes. They will go to children in our county and surrounding counties.

We had nearly 400 people come through the show. To celebrate our anniversary, we gave a gift bag with store coupons to each person who visited the show. What other quilt show gives you a gift when you come!

The real winners of our Quilt Show are the 145 children who will receive a new quilt to call their own!

However, we did have a few prizes to award.

Most Power of Words Quilts ($200 gift certificate):

Cathy Wallace – San Antonio

The 2 winners of our drawing for Brother Scan ‘n Cut machines are:

Laura Webb – Fair Oaks Ranch

Janie Love – San Antonio

Viewers Choice Winners :

Each person was also able to vote for their 10 favorite quilts in no particular order. We tallied the votes and came up with the winners.

We awarded First, Second and Third Place for Viewers Choice. In addition, we gave prizes for places 4-10 (in no particular order). See the winning quilts, quilters and their prizes in the gallery below.
