| "Well, Hello! How are you? I am the warmly regarded Ruthie Lucile Morgan Gentry Hendrix -- nee Peters, of the Elm Street Peters, don't you know. I grew up in an old Kerr County family. My parents, W.C. and Josephine, were quite strict church-goers, who forbid us children to even play with our toys on Sundays. They were good people who tried to raise us with values and morals and a work ethic. My brother Charles and sister Ellen Helen complied, but my spirits were too high. | ![]() |

I was forever pulling pranks!! Once, at the very intersection right here by From Our House To Yours, my friend Cynthia and I tied a rope to the steering wheel of a Model T, then tied it with a hard left to the door handle, thus making the car go round and round in circles in the middle of the street, with us laughing uproariously in the rumble seat!! I finally ran away with a handsome carnival man -- that was Mr. Morgan. Next came Mr. Gentry, a charming ne'er-do-well several years my senior. |

| My last husband, thankfully was a wealthy East Texas timber merchant, who left me quite well-off financially, so that I was able to return to Kerrville, live in a mansion on top of a hill, and indulge my predilection for somewhat gaudy attire. The picture to the right shows me in one of my favorite new pastimes - socializing with important and beautiful felines! Life is good! | ![]() |
